Noel's Dive Blog

This was definitely a dive of a life time. We went with Casa Del Buceo. They took very good care of us. Only 6 of us in the boat. We left at 7:30 am and were back by 12:00. Enrique and Jesus worked hard to get us to the Sharks.

This first video shows a bit of how the process works. The boat gets close to the whale shark (but not to close) and while its getting in place you hang over the edge of the boat. Once the boat is in position you jump from the boat and start swimming like crazy to get to the whale shark.

This second video is from our first swim with our first whale shark. While you look at them from the boat they appear to be slow but when you are in the water with them they are actually moving quite fast. It was a struggle to keep pace with them.

These videos are from our latest trip to Maui. The first video is from a two dive trip we did with Scuba Shack. The first part of the dive (which is not on this video) was to Molokini Crater. The second dive of the day was at a site called Red Hill which is close to Mckena. Was a great dive where we saw 2 turtles and an octopus.

The second trip we took was for a Manta Dive through the Maui Dive Shop (MDS). MDS had said that they had great success spotting mantas. We thought we would take the chance and we booked the dive. The first dive was to the back wall of Molokini Crater. I didn’t take my light on this dive the video will look rather blue.

This third video is from the actual Manta Dive. The dive was 45 minutes and we unfortunately did not see any Mantas. The video from this dive is short and pretty uneventful as the images were taken while we were trying to spot the mantas.

Some video I took on September 25th at the dam site in Lake Minnewanka. Video is taken around the 1912 dam. Video includes the block house, the dam itself, plaque of Philippe Cousteau.

Here is some a video from this years AUC Lake Minnewanka clean up.  There were 50 divers from all over Alberta.  The most interesting piece of garbage was a stroller. 

About a 1 minute video from ASSC Enhancement Weekend. As you you can see the weather was awesome and it was a fairly good turnout.

Here is a video Shawn and I did at Forget Me Not pond in Kananaskis.  The pond is really small but has beautiful visibility.  The surface temperature was so hot and muggy and the water temperature was so cold that I had quite a bit of condensation inside the housing.  I stopped the dive so that the water would not affect the camera.  Unfortunately because of the condensation, the video is a bit blurry.  I have since purchased one of these reusable silica packs.

Second time using the new Equinox HD6 housing. Visibility was pretty bad on this dive. There were some particles on the outside of the dome that kept causing the camera to go out of focus.
